柳(指柳属各种)又名杨柳、小杨,是我国华北、西北、东北、华东常见的树种之一。史前甲骨文中即出现柳字,以后在各古籍中描述和记载柳的文字不胜枚举。 一、栽培和利用历史 柳是山东的原生树种,在第三纪中新世的山旺森林里即有柳属。据青岛地区孢粉分析得知,在距今11000—8500年间,青岛胶州弯附近就有柳属。如《平度州志》中说平度的树木、茶山“榆柳成行”,南部平原“万柳依依”。《清实录》说“大运河济宁至临清四百里,东平济汶之间……皆自明万历间筑堤种柳,蓄水济运”。
