What kind of food is missing from the American friends coming to China? Hamburger? Sandwiches? Apple Pie? After arriving in Shanghai, young American entrepreneurs David Rossi and Fung Lam find that they miss most not sandwiches, not hamburgers, in fact “Chinese food ”. This “Chinese meal” can only be purchased in the United States: chop suey, orange chicken, General Tso’s beef, lo mein. In this land of rich Chinese food but lacking “American-style Chinese,” Rossi and Lam saw their chances, and the recent Fortune Cookie restaurant, which was listed in Shanghai recently, came into being. The cuisine on the menu is somewhat new to the Chinese, but these partial sweet dishes are indispensable to many American restaurants.
