Objective To observe the effect of early nursing intervention on the incidence of complications of arteriovenous fistula in maintenance hemodialysis patients. Methods 70 patients with maintenance hemodialysis admitted to hospital were randomly divided into observation group and control group with 35 cases in each group. The control group was given the traditional basic nursing. The observation group took the early nursing intervention on the basis of the control group, and compared the incidence of complications and long-term quality of life in the two groups. Results The overall complication rate in observation group was 11.43%, which was significantly lower than that in control group (54.29%, P <0.01). Physiological function, physical function, somatic pain, emotional function, energy, mental health and general health score in observation group were significantly higher than those in control group after intervention (P <0.01). Conclusion The effect of early nursing intervention on the incidence of complications of arteriovenous fistula in patients with maintenance hemodialysis is significant and has clinical significance.
