王竞,北京电影学院摄影系副教授导演作品《方便面时代》、《一年到头》、《无形杀》、《我是植物人》、《孩子那些事》等。摄影学毕业,留校,拍过广告,拍过纪录片,用自己赚来的钱拍摄第一部电影作品,王竞的导演之路和后来的李蔚然、乌尔善很相似,不同的是后面两位现在是职业导演,而他是兼职导演。后面两位走的是一条纯粹的商业路数,而他坚持的是现实的人文路线。
