激光是六十年代发展起来的一门新技术,它在工业、医疗卫生、国防建设和科学研究方面已较为广泛应用。近几年来国内外一些部门开始采用激光技术处理作物种子,促进增产,培育良种试验。我国许多单位在干部、科技人员、贫下中农的结合下,在有关单位社会主义协作下,用激光技术照射大豆、小麦、水稻、油菜、玉米、蚕豆等作物种子,在促进发芽、提高单位面积产量,促进早熟、产生可遗传变异等方面的试验研究进展很快,在农业上显示了激光新技术应用的可喜前景。
