五十年代以来,贵州省农业科研单位曾作过20多次钾肥肥效试验,其中大部份效果不显著,少数略有增产。其原因是我省五十年代化肥施用量很少,缺乏氮、磷化肥是当时农业生产的主要矛盾之一,同时农业生产水平低,作物消耗钾素也较少,施用的农家肥料圈、堆肥中钾素含量基本上能满足一般作物对钾素的需要。六十年代中期到七十年代初期,我省和全国一样,氮、磷化肥产量和施用量大幅度增加,复种指数和单产有了提高,作物对钾素的需要量增加。但这一时期,钾肥的施用,基本上仍处于空白状态,作物需要的钾素仍然依靠农家肥料和土壤中的钾素供应和补充,这种情况已不可能满足
