Jaguar Cars UK has replaced steel with lightweight long-fiber reinforced thermoplastic (LFPT) composites in the GOR opening of door modules and new XJ-like vehicles. Automold Inc., a British manufacturer of composite automotive components, uses Ticona’s Celstran® (R) LFRT to produce automotive parts. The opening door template (Celstrem PPGF30 × 293-P11 / 1X) was made of 30% long glass fiber reinforced polypropylene (PP) and the front end (Celstrem PA66GF50--02 - P11-14). Ticona said replacing the metal plate with the LFRT scheme for front and rear doors not only reduces weight, but also allows other component molds
