天雨虽宽,不润无根之草,佛门虽广,不度无缘之人。任经文先生与牛结下的不解之缘实在是深刻而由来之久,牛的精神已是他安身立命行事做人的圭臬,他写了一首《神牛颂》足以表达他的心声:“我属牛,爱牛,藏牛,终生与牛结下了不解之缘。牛,外貌质朴而洒脱,性格倔强而温顺,不藏奸不耍赖,勤奋踏实勇于开拓,不骄不躁,不卑不亢。牛,一生餐风露宿,仅以蒿草为足,别无所求,而对人类则无限地付出,把奉献洒满人间。牛,辛勤耕耘,任劳任怨,虽无奔跑之特长,却有拔山盖世之雄心,有重荷跋涉之壮志。从婴儿哺乳到美食强身,轻装革履,鼓乐渡舟,人的衣食住行与它结下不解之缘。故,人们在诗中画中文中给予应有的赞美和称颂。常把它作为勇猛开拓、忠诚奉献的象征。画家笔下的放牧图,作者笔下的孺子牛,大家口中的老黄牛,案橱陈设中的拓荒牛,用牛命名的地名、商标及十二生肖皆是它高尚品格的赞颂与共识。牛,与中华人民共和国近代史有不解之缘:一九四九年中华人民共和国成立——牛年;一九八五年深圳建市——牛年;一九九七年香港回归——牛年。故,我称牛为吉祥之首!”
