金建国以前,女真族对高丽朝贡称臣。12世纪初,女真族的崛起使东北亚的国际秩序发生了翻天覆地的变化。金建国后,不仅对高丽提出和亲的要求,意图与其结为兄弟,甚至要求高丽对其称臣。高丽权臣李资谦不顾大多数人的反对,决定对金称臣。宋朝南渡后,派遣杨应城至高丽提出假道入金的请求。南宋的假道要求在许多方面都令人难以理解。当时,高宗表面十分希望迎回二帝,但此举是否发自内心便不得而知了。此外,从当时宋朝与金的关系来看,宋假道高丽至金,以迎回二帝的举动毫无现实性可言。综合几个事实可以推断,南宋的假道要求,表面上是为了显示对二帝的孝诚之心,实际上另有所图。笔者认为,南宋只是打着“假道至金”的旗号,来实现其离间金丽两国、打探二者关系密切程度的目的。高丽用几个理由婉拒了南宋的假道要求。

Koryo declined the false claim of the Southern Song Dynasty for several reasons.
