那是1975年元月8日,华国锋同志要为国务院召开的粮棉油麻烟会议作总结了。我早早地就跑到自己的座位上坐好。忽然,我们许昌地委李书记拉起我就往会议大厅旁边的会客室里跑。我边跑边问:“什么事?”李书记附在我耳边说:“首长要接见你。”一听说首长接见,刷地一下子,我满身都兴奋得紧张起来。我还没来得及把衣领子扣整好,就看见华国锋同志和其他几位副总理,微微笑着走进来。这笑容显得谦虚朴实,平易近人,使我一颗局促不安的心很快平静下来,呼吸也匀和多了。当华国锋同志走到我跟前跟我握手时,有人介绍说:“他就是河南发明二茬烟的刘长岭同志”。
