The Association of Frontier Learning (ABS-Association for Borderlands Studies) is an academic body established by the United States to carry out research on borderland studies. It was founded in 1976. Initially positioned to study the border issue between the United States and Mexico, the association later extended to a broader area. The association claims to be involved in the study of contemporary frontier issues, including the need for regional economic integration, the emergence of newly developed nations, the cultivation of ethnic conflicts, the opening up of borders and security, and the institutionalization of cross-border issues management (including from immigration to common issues Environmental concerns, and then public health and economic development concerns).
