上海有线电视台于1992年12月26日正式成立和开播,已用12个频道播出13套节目(其中9个频道用于转播,3个频道用于自办节目),联网的终端已达70余万户,今年年底则可达到百万户以上。现在全市住户有460余万,预计在今后三年内,200万户可以入网。上海有线电视网络采用的是先进的光缆和电缆相结合的传输手段,就当前国内外有线电视发展状况而言,用光缆、电缆传输并拥有近百万、以后将拥有数百万终端的有线电视台,还是不多见的,这在我国有线电视发展史上,也占有重要的一页。 有线电视事业,现在方兴未艾,以后将如日中天,因此有人说21世纪将是有线电视世纪。和它的广阔前景相比,上海有线电视事业所取得的进展,只仅仅是一个开始,但千里之行始于足下,我们终于迈出了跨世纪工程的第一步。
