Well point drainage (or precipitation) is the use of wells (holes) in the pit, underground caverns simultaneously pumping, the groundwater level down to below the basement of the bottom, so that construction without groundwater conditions. At present, the domestic application of more basic treatment, in the railway sector has been used to deal with landslides and roadbed disease work sites. From March to July of 1985, we conducted an attempt to well point drainage in the Donggou section of the Jundushan Tunnel, and achieved satisfactory results. Through the practice of this worksite, we think the success or failure of well point drainage is based on the selection of a reasonable well point drainage method according to the hydrogeological conditions.
