动物的精子和其他组织细胞一样,在其膜上有大量的不饱和类脂。这些类脂在有氧的条件下极不稳定。很容易发生类脂过氧化反应。目前认为这些类脂中的长链不饱和脂肪酸被氧化产生的大量类脂过氧化物会使精子膜的完整性、精子运动及代谢等逐渐地、不可逆地被破坏或消失。一些实验也证明精子膜其类脂过氧化反应量与精子的运动、精子的形态学和生物学的变化有关。
Animal sperm, like other tissue cells, have large amounts of unsaturated lipids on their membranes. These lipids are extremely unstable under aerobic conditions. Lipid peroxidation is prone to occur. It is currently believed that the lipid peroxidation of long chain unsaturated fatty acids in these lipids will result in the gradual and irreversible destruction or disappearance of sperm membrane integrity, sperm motility and metabolism. Some experiments also prove that the amount of lipoperoxidation in sperm membranes is related to sperm motility and sperm morphological and biological changes.
