我县甘薯栽培面积約占总耕地的25—30%。夏甘薯面积为春甘薯的二至三倍,而前者用秧全靠后者供給,因此一到栽夏薯时,春薯秧95%以上被剪得一扫光,严重地影响产量。为此,我們在岳坊区各地分別作了春甘薯剪秧对产量影响的試驗,这里只介紹一个較为突出的例子。1965年,牛王公社牛王大队集东生产队,一块春甘薯三十九亩,地势較高,土質較好,前冬每亩施八車(每車約一千五百斤)沟泥,去春每亩又施三車土杂肥,冬耕一次,深六寸,春季結合打壠耕翻一次。5月10—12日扦揷,每亩一千九百八十棵。6月22日这个队开始栽夏甘薯,留下东边的九亩未剪秧,其余三十亩全部剪光。結果未剪秧的九亩,平均亩产三千二百一十斤;剪秧的三十亩,平均亩产二千三百二十斤。未剪秧的比剪秧的每亩增产八百九十斤。我們在試驗中,对这三十九亩春甘薯作了剪秧
