As a major player in fighting Japan, China has made a significant contribution to the victory of its allies. In 1949, the Kuomintang retreated to Taiwan and continued to support “certain” China on certain international occasions with the support of the United States. This was opposed to varying degrees by China, Britain, the Soviet Union and other countries. In order to reduce its resistance, the United States has failed to include the Taiwan authorities within the multilateral signatories to Japan and Japan, but has urged Japan to sign bilateral peace agreements with it. At this time, Chiang Kai-shek was most concerned about the issue of “the Republic of China on behalf of China.” Finally, signing the Treaty of Peace between Japan and Taiwan at the San Francisco Multilateral Peace Treaty was basically in line with Chiang Kai-shek’s wishes. However, the process of achieving this result is overwhelmed. Here, Chiang has differences on many issues. Although Chiang’s response to the decision made the Taiwan authorities ultimately achieve the expected goal, the price paid for it was enormous. The United States contributed to “Japan-Taiwan peace treaty” solely for its own strategic interests in the Far East. It did not give much consideration to the rights and interests of the Taiwan authorities.
