Objective To study the regularity of the change of cognitive function of civil aviation pilots with age and the impact of such changes on individual flight scores and to explore the psychological basis for extending the flight years. Methods A total of 147 civil aviation pilots (aged 36 to 60 years old) with 5 age groups in each 5-year-old age group. The test tasks consisted of three basic cognitive tests and four man-machine dialogues. After the test mission was completed, a flight survey was conducted for each subject. Results Except for one cognitive assignment (direction of difference), the scores of the other 10 indicators showed significant differences among all age groups. In addition to the two indicators of human-computer interaction, the scores of most of the indicators The difference in age occurs between the age group of 40 years and the age group of 40 years of age. After 40 years of age, there was no significant difference between the age groups. In addition, the results of the flight survey showed that there was no significant difference in flight ability and flight training scores among all age groups. Conclusion The cognitive function of civil aviation pilots is a decreasing trend with the increase of age. The 40-year-old is a demarcation line, but by the age of 40 there is no significant change between the age groups. In addition, this decline in cognitive function did not affect the pilot’s ability to fly and flight performance.
