一 编辑劳动作为一种创造性的脑力劳动,具有明显的个体性。它的每个环节都离不开劳动者个体的钻研和思考。各类信息的搜集、选题的设计与构思、作者的发现与选择、稿件,的审读与加工、图书市场的调查与开发……等等,都要靠一个个编辑人员勤奋努力的个体劳动,才能取得成功;编辑劳动成绩的大小、创造水平的高低也取决于编辑个体的智能和劳动态度。正是这种个体劳动的特点,才会使优秀的编辑工作者可能成为编辑家,并在自己的劳动中形成与众不同的编辑业绩和编辑风格。不过,编辑劳动的个体性与其他脑力劳动的个体性并不完全相同。例如科学家、艺术家、作家等脑力劳动者,他们的劳动方式主要是个体的;他们的社会角色(精神产品的生产者)又要求他们这种脑力劳动突出自己的个性,个性特色越是鲜明,其精神产品就越能显示出独特的创造风格。因而他们的劳动个体性特别强烈;而编辑的劳动方式并不全是个体的;编辑的社会角色是:精神文化生产的组织调节者、精神作品文本的制作者、传播者。这种社会角色对编辑劳动的要求是个体性与群体性的高度结合;编辑创造的业绩与风格也不能离开这种结合表现出来。所以,编辑劳动的个体性就与群体性很难完全分开。最近,有位作家给编辑家黄伊写了一本传记:《烛照篇——黄伊和当代作家
