一、引言英语新闻报道以其鲜活的语言材料、热门的话题和时效性往往能激发学生的学习兴趣,而各高校英语专业所开的听力课多使用某一套固定的教材,练习多以完成录音材料的填空为主,训练方法单一,存在一定的不足。因此,大多数英语专业的学生都把课外收听英语新闻广播作为提高自己英语听力水平的一条途径。为弥补听力课的上述不足,一些高校的英语专业在听力课之外相继开设了英语新闻视听课程。英语新闻听力除课堂上的训练以外.大量的听力练习要靠学生的课外听力来完成。听什么,怎样听;每天听力的时间;听的过程中应使用哪些策略;怎样自我监控,自我调整,所有这一切都要由学生自己做出决定。因此,在英语新闻听力的训练中培养学生的自主学习意识显得尤为重要。
