在《<呐喊>自序》中,鲁迅说:“我要到 N 进 K 学堂去了,仿佛是想走异路,逃异地,去寻求别样的人们。”中语教材选编此文时,曾注“N 指南京,K 学堂指江南水师学堂。鲁迅于一八九八年到南京进江南水师学堂读书,一八九九年转入江南陆师学堂附设的矿务铁路学堂。”据《鲁迅年谱》载鲁迅一八九八年五月离绍兴往南京求学,下旬考入江南水师学堂。由于该校“乌烟瘴气”鲁迅故于同年退学回家。一八九九年一月鲁迅复抵南京,改入江南陆师
