我厂过去焊硬质合金刀具时,是采用氧-乙炔气钎焊或用煤气加热钎焊。这种焊接容易因刀头局部过热出现微小裂纹,降低使用寿命。我厂师傅共同研究成功一种封闭焊刀法,这种方法是:将组成组刀具开槽,放进硬质合金刀片,每块力片侧面放一块黄铜片,撤有少许硼砂末,再绑成捆用特制的粘土(焦碳末60%,石英砂10%,耐火土30%配成)包起来,在粘土包上留有通气孔(见简图),然后用煤气加热,待粘土包内的铜片熔化后取出即成。用这种方法焊成的刀具表面光洁,没有发生裂纹现象。
