1995年秋,加拿大人科克伦要走钢丝过长江的消息在中国引起不小的轰动,不少人以为他是一个富有冒险精神的年轻人,而那一年他已经53岁了。10月28日,成千上万的中国人赶到瞿塘峡口——夔门,目睹他跨越长江的风采,中央电视台向全国做了现场直播。在距江面2200英尺高、南北1360英尺长的钢索上。他稳步从长江左岸走到了右岸。这一惊心动魄的场面不少人还记忆犹新,而他的表演生涯却鲜为人知。
