In 1978, the United States Army Missile Command started a daunting research mission of developing an advanced guidance system for future missiles. In order to meet the objectives of the expected characteristics of the 1990s and beyond and to meet the stringent requirements and constraints imposed by the current battlefield environment, it is envisaged that the system will “go far beyond” the systems currently being developed. This paper re-described this topic in detail, and introduced the latest development research plan. At the same time, comments have been made on the various achievements made so far, in particular in the following areas: the various mathematical models currently being used to analyze and simulate missiles and their guidance systems; aerodynamics; propulsion systems; Analysis of the various guiding laws; disturbance regulation control the development of the state; positioning and tracking of signal processing and digital target design methods. The final section of this article also lists various future plans that are supported by contract contractors.
