华南麦区位于我国南部,包括广东、广西、福建、台湾四个省(区)。境内山地与丘陵面积约占80％左右、以海拔500米以下的丘陵为普遍。在江河下游有较宽阔的平原。气候总的特点是温暖湿润。年平均气温从北往南由16℃渐升到24℃。1月份平均气温从北往南由6℃渐升到19℃。无霜期北部为八至十个月,南部很少霜雪。年降水量1000-2000毫米,小麦生长期间降水量为250-650毫米,内陆山区多于沿海平原、丘陵。
