Recently, European crop monitoring showed that the United Kingdom has confirmed that barley plants have some resistance to spot blotch. This is the first case of SDHI fungicide resistance found in cereal crops in the United Kingdom. In England, especially in the south, winter barley crops often develop web leaf blight with symptoms of brownish barbed or reticular foliage and spotting. If not properly controlled, net blotch will result in barley 10% to 40%, reducing the weight of 1000 grains. In 2012, two cases were detected in Germany, and by the end of the 2013 growing season, the mutations caused the disease to partially resist the SDHI fungicide and spread throughout the European continent. John Peck, director of technology management at BASF, said: “This is the first SDRI-like disease in cereal crops, but the company has not yet received a case of defeat in the field, but the disease will have an impact if not properly managed. ”
