In order to study the effect of soil with different pH values on the growth quality of turfgrasses, the growth of turfgrass in Manila and Poa pratensis was studied under different soil pH values. The germination rate, germination energy, germination index, chlorophyll content, Plant height, biomass and other indicators. The results showed as follows: 1) The germination rate, germination energy and plant height of Manila turfgrass increased gradually at the pH value of 4 ~ 6. Compared with the control, (P> 0.05). There were significant differences in the germination rate and the dry weight and fresh weight of above-ground and under-ground parts of Manila turfgrass compared with the control. However, the differences of the germination potential and germination index were not significant (P> 0.05) The contents of chlorophyll in Manila turfgrass grown in different soil values varied greatly. The content of chlorophyll decreased gradually when the soil pH was between 5 and 7, and the chlorophyll content gradually increased when the soil pH was between 7 and 9. 2) The germination rate, germination energy and germination index of Kentucky bluegrass increased at the pH value of 4 ~ 7, and the fresh weight and dry weight of the aboveground and underground parts increased obviously at pH 4 ~ 9 (P> 0.05). The germination rate, germination index, plant height, shoot fresh weight, fresh weight and dry weight of the ground were significantly different from those of the control at different pH values. However, the difference of germination potential was not significant The chlorophyll content of Kentucky bluegrass gradually increased at pH 6 ~ 8, and the content of chlorophyll in soil pH varied greatly.
