PURPOSE: To assess the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) features of brain developmental venous anomalies (DVAs) and analyze the factors that may influence the visualization of DVAs on MRI. Methods: MRI images of 53 patients with DVAs were retrospectively analyzed. The location and number of DVAs, the diameter of the draining veins and accompanying signs of abnormalities in the brain parenchyma were assessed, and the visualization of DVAs on MRI sequences was assessed. Results: The incidence of DVAs in this group was 2.5%. A total of 58 DVAs were observed. 48 cases of single DVAs, 5 cases of multiple (both 2). 45 cases are located on the screen, 13 cases are located in the screen. Conclusion: DVAs mostly single hair, occur in the curtain, the most common in the frontal lobe. The larger the diameter of the draining veins, the easier it is to show on the plain MRI sequence, while the smaller ones, even on enhanced MRI, can easily be missed if not carefully judged.
