The general principles of the application of radioactive isotope tracer in the tracing test of steam flooding wells in oilfields are described. The successful examples of the first application in China are introduced. In order to understand the regularity of underground steam injected into steam and improve the reservoir description in the experimental area, tritiated water was used as a tracer in this experiment with good results and the expected results
