The Scientific Research Committee of the Academy of Sciences of the United States recently published the main direction of forestry scientific research during the 12th Five-Year Plan (1986-1990): Forestry Economics and Organizational Management: Focusing on measures for forestry enterprises to increase production efficiency and seeking suitable measures for protection Harvesting methods required for natural regeneration of wood and forest. Use of forests: study of principles of sustainable use of forests; determine the basis for classification of forests; determine the age of harvesting of forests, especially Type I forests; and develop plans for the long-term use of forests
