Objective: To investigate the relationship between sleep disturbance and morning peak blood pressure in elderly patients with hypertension. Methods: One hundred and seventy-six hypertensive patients over 60 years of age treated at Dongsheng Hospital of Guangzhou from January 2013 to January 2016 were divided into two groups: patients with sleep disorders and without sleep disorders, and their body mass Index, liver and kidney function, blood glucose, blood lipids and other biochemical indicators, line 24 h ambulatory blood pressure measurement, sleep disorders and morning peak blood pressure were related to regression analysis. Results: There was no significant difference in the basic data between the patients with and without sleep disorders (P> 0.05). The patients with sleep disorders and without sleep disorders had significantly higher morning blood pressure, the difference was statistically significant (P < P <0.05). CONCLUSION: Sleep disorders in elderly patients with hypertension are associated with an increase in morning blood pressure, and improving sleep may help to improve the morning peak and thus better overall control of blood pressure.
