Objective To investigate the relationship between changes of glycosylated hemoglobin, high sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) and lipid metabolism and type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods 240 cases of type 2 diabetes were included in the case group and 240 cases of healthy subjects in the control group. Venous blood samples were collected for 10 h after fasting, and serum concentrations of HbAlc, hs-CRP, TC, TG and HDL-C were measured. Results The concentration of hs-CRP and the level of serum lipids in case group and control group were significantly different (P <0.05). The concentration of HDL-C in case group was lower than that of control group (P <0.05). Conclusions Glycated protein, high sensitive C-reactive protein, and serum lipids in diabetic patients are all correlated. HbA1c and hs-CRP are risk factors and predominant predictors of type 2 diabetes.
