Lanxi is located in southeastern Heilongjiang Province, the hinterland of the Songnen Plain, covering an area of 2,499 square kilometers, with 2.49 million mu of cultivated land, 340,000 mu of grassland and 50.8 million mu of woodland. It administrates 15 townships (towns), 105 administrative villages and 770 Natural Tuen; a total population of 530,000, of which 400,000 agricultural population.
