This paper discusses how to solve the single-mode operation of the SAW resonator on the ST-X quartz substrate. The cross-mode suppression and the proper design of the cavity are discussed in detail. The weighting formula of the contour-plus- The best reflector spacing, the number of reflective array elements and the impedance discontinuity.The experimental results on the design of the device and the metal-strip-reflective-gate resonator are also discussed.
