作为中国科学院知识创新工程重大行动计划的第一批项目,“水稻基因组测序和重要农艺性状功能基因组研究”于2001年9月启动。本项目集中了中科院基因组研究的主要力量,以遗传与发育生物学研究所为依托单位,参加单位包括中国科学院国家基因研究中心、中国科学院基因组信息中心暨北京华大基因组中心、植物研究所和上海植物生理生态研究所等。本项目以水稻基因组测序为基础,水稻比较基因组、功能基因组等领域的研究为核心,重点开展具有我国自主知识产权的重要功能基因发掘和应用。项目的实施对提升我国基因组研究的整体水平,使我国基因组学的研发能力步入世界先进国家行列,确保我国在生物技术领域的国际竞争中逐步取得主动地位,促进我国基因产业的健康发展等具有重大战略意义。
As the first batch of major initiatives of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in knowledge innovation project, “Functional genomics of rice genome sequencing and important agronomic traits” was launched in September 2001. The project focuses on the main force of the Chinese Academy of Sciences genome research, the Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology as the backing unit, the participating units include the Chinese Academy of Sciences National Center for Gene Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences Genome Information Center and Beijing Huada Genome Center, Institute of Botany and Shanghai Plant Physiology and Ecology Institute. Based on the research of rice genome sequencing and rice comparative genomics and functional genomics, this project focuses on the discovery and application of important functional genes with independent intellectual property rights in China. The implementation of the project will enhance the overall level of genomics research in our country so that the research and development capability of genomics in our country will step into the ranks among the advanced countries in the world and ensure that our country gradually takes the initiative in the international competition in the field of biotechnology and promotes the healthy development of the genetic industry in China Great strategic significance.
