英国“托莫”(Tomo)公司的“斯垂米特”(Stramit)稻草麦杆制板厂,利用稻草、麦杆做建筑材料代替砖瓦、木材,值得注意。“斯垂米特”稻草麦杆制板技术,一九五三年发明应用于瑞典,二次大战前苏联用瑞典的机器建了五个厂。战后,由于木材供应紧张,该项技术被英国购进引用,从一九四六年起,这项技术专利权就一直为英国所有,现已有二十多个国家购买专利建了厂。
