Kuraray, Thailand PTT Global Chemical (PTTGC) and Sumitomo Corporation of Japan announced on October 6, 2016 that they have signed a joint feasibility study agreement to potentially develop a butadiene derivative manufacturing project in Thailand. The project will include the construction of a 13,000 tonne / year high heat resistant polyamide 9T unit and a 16,000 tonne / year hydrogenated styrene block copolymer unit in the eastern industrial area of Hemaraj, Rayong province. PTTGC will supply butadiene feedstock. Feasibility study goal is to put into operation by the end of 2020.
