一、预赛的回顾举世瞩目的第15届世界杯足球预选赛从1992年3月22日揭开战幕到1993年11月17日偃旗息鼓,前后历经一年零八个月时间,最后产生了世界足坛的24强,参加今年6月17日-7月17日在美国举行的第15届世界杯决赛。纵观本届世界杯预选赛,可以看出有以下几个特点:1.参加预选赛的队数之多超过了以往任何一届。远的不说,仅以最近三届的统计数字即可看出,1986年第13届世界杯预选赛的参赛队数为111支,全部预赛场次为308场;1990年第14届世界杯预选赛的参赛队数为107支,全部预赛场次为311场;到本届时,参赛队就上扩到128支,全部预赛场次为490场!
