为促进儿童均衡饮食,台湾地区“食药署”于2014年11月20日制定了《不适合儿童长期食用之食品广告及促销管理办法》,该办法于2016年1月1日施行。管理办法中规定,“零食、糖果、饮料、冰品及直接供应饮食的场所所供应的食品(共5类)”的“脂肪、饱和脂肪、钠及额外添加糖”含量超出该办法规定标准,则限制其针对儿童广告及促销的方式,管制重点如下:广告限制:17时至21时,不得于儿童频道刊播广告;不得以可取代正餐饮食的表示或表征为广告。
