我国中学英语教学长期以来都注重语言形式的学习,比较忽视该种语言文化对交际作用的影响。进入新世纪,随着我国对外交往以及与外民族接触日益迫切的需要,英语教学更要重视交际能力的培养,随之而来的就是学生对所学语言的特有文化的了解的要求也越来越高。语言是文化的载体,学习语言不可避免地就要接触到与之相关的文化。人教社新目标教材的编者们在这方面做了有益的安排,涉及文化介绍的课文和日常生活的会话题材比起旧教材都分别有了增加。这表明通过日常教学使学生了解英语国家的文化背景和社会风貌是英语课特有的一个层面。因此,在中学英语教学中,我们教师应努力培养学生的文化习得意识,使文化规范的教学与语言技能的培养同步进行。下面结合教材,介绍几种笔者经常在课堂上使用的方法。
English teaching in middle schools in our country has long been focusing on the study of language forms and ignoring the influence of the language and culture on the communicative functions. In the new century, with the increasingly urgent need of our country’s foreign relations and engagement with foreign nationalities, English teaching should pay more attention to the cultivation of communicative competence. The consequent demand of students to understand the unique culture of the language to learn more and more The higher. Language is the carrier of culture, the language of learning inevitably comes into contact with the culture. The editors of the New Goal Textbook of People-to-People Teachings have made useful arrangements in this respect. The number of conversation topics involved in the texts and daily life of cultural introduction have increased respectively compared to the old textbooks. This shows that through daily teaching to enable students to understand the cultural background of English-speaking countries and social style is a unique aspect of English classes. Therefore, in middle school English teaching, our teachers should strive to cultivate students’ awareness of cultural acquisition and synchronize the teaching of cultural norms with the development of language skills. The following combination of textbooks, describes several ways I often used in the classroom.
