本文论述了近代以来西方传教士在中国开办图书馆,传播西方图书馆学思想,带来了杜威法,实行开架借阅,开放共享等读者服务工作的新观念。虽然西方传教士的上述活动具有鲜明的殖民主义色彩,但在近代半殖民地、半封建社会的特殊历史条件下,起到了启蒙与示范作用,对中国近代图书馆的产生和发展具有重要影响,促进了古代藏书楼向近代图书馆的转变。
This article discusses the modern concept that Western missionaries started libraries in China, disseminated the ideas of Western library science, brought about Dewey law, practiced open reader services such as open-shelf loans and open sharing. Although the above activities of Western missionaries were characterized by distinct colonialism, they played a role of enlightenment and demonstration in the special historical conditions of semi-colonial and semi-feudal society in modern times, which had an important influence on the emergence and development of modern Chinese libraries and promoted The Transformation of Ancient Library to Modern Library.
