Although some progress has been made in the economic cooperation and integration of the Arab countries that are about to begin in the 21st century and have experienced a difficult journey of half a century, the results of such cooperation as a whole are very limited. Not only It is still far from the goal of eventually establishing an Arab Common Market like the European Community, and it is still far away from the proposed establishment of an Arab Free Trade Area.
