徐中舒先生,1898年10月15日生于安徽省怀宁县(今安庆市)。徐先生是我国著名的历史学家和古文字学家,早在三十年代,他就以一个“学术水平很高的专家”(《古史辨》第一册16页顾颉刚语)扬名于学术界。他早年考入清华研究院,师从王国维、梁启超等著名学者学习中国古史和汉语古文字学,从事科研教学工作达七十年之久,在先秦史、汉语古文字学、考古学、民族学、地方史等方面都有很高造诣,撰写论文一百多篇,专著数册,还主持编写了我国第一部大型甲骨文工具书《甲骨文字典》,并担任了国家大型科研项目《汉语大字典》的
Mr. Xu Zhongshu was born on October 15, 1898 in Huaining County, Anhui Province (now Anqing City). Mr. Xu was a famous historian and ancient philologist in our country. As early as the 1930s, Xu was famous for his “expert with a high academic level” (Gu Jiegang) academia. He was admitted to Tsinghua Research Institute early in his career. He studied ancient Chinese history and ancient Chinese philology with renowned scholars such as Wang Guowei and Liang Qichao, and spent over 70 years in scientific research teaching.
