The Xijiang golden waterway is an important platform for Guangxi’s opening up to the outside world and the coordinated development of regional economy. By the end of 2012, Guangxi achieved an inport port throughput of 94.94 million tons and an inland waterway freight volume of 150 million tons, with a total of 100 million tons of gold waterways in Xijiang River initially formed. This is of great and far-reaching significance to strengthening exchanges and cooperation with Guangxi, Guizhou, Guangdong, Hong Kong and Maucao, and with ASEAN countries. According to the speech made by the leaders of the autonomous region on this year’s “two sessions”, they will work hard after the initial formation of 100 million tons of waterways, and will spare no effort in pushing forward the 100 million tons of Xijiang River
