现时沪人,把南京东路和南京西路简称为“南京路”;在过去,“南京路”仅指现在的南京东路。无论现在还是过去,南京东路,不说名闻世界,至少是全国著名。旧时曾有这么几句话:“要轧闹猛南京路,High-class霞飞路,要打野鸡四马路。”现在在那里,老店新楼比邻,游人顾客摩肩。一幢幢老建筑都有不少故事,一段段新路面下藏些许传说。要想详尽叙述,恐怕得洋洋几十万字的书籍方能,这样的书也已出现。在这篇小小的文章里,只想说些有关道路与路名,并且人们不太知晓或有所讹传的往事。
