Compaction grouting reinforcement technology was first used in the United States in the early 1950s and was used for the first time in tunnel construction in the 1970s to control formation displacements with success. Shanghai has used this process to reinforce the soft soil around the tunnels during the construction of the subway and tunnels to reduce the displacement of ground during construction and limit the flow of groundwater
