河南省禹县吕沟煤矿属县办地方煤矿,开采五_2、六_4两个薄煤层,煤层厚度分别为1.2米,0.9米,煤层倾角13～14°,坚硬顶板,低沼气, 无自然发火。矿井开拓方式为斜井片盘开采, (即采区就是工作面),采面为金属支柱铰接顶梁支护,炮采生产。1961年8月接收社办矿 时年产仅为3万吨,经过改造1984年已发展到年产为 30万吨以上的中型矿井。二十多年来, 吕沟煤矿在改造矿井的同时,加强领导,加强煤炭资源的管理工作,坚持不断改革巷道布置方式,实现长采面(200～230米)无煤柱回采,采区回收率由1961年的60％提高到97％,使矿产资源得到充分的回收,有力的促进了生产的发展,其经验是:
