Hemophilic joint damage is a common complication of patients with severe and moderate hemophilia A and B. In this paper, a double-blind randomized crossover study was conducted to investigate the effect of long-term use of Ibuprofen (IBU) on the impairment of joint function in a group of hemophiliacs. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Twenty patients with severe or moderate hemophilia A or B were selected, aged from 17 to 40 years old, with severe damage to one or more joints. Among them, 9 cases showed obvious symptoms, 6 cases showed mild symptoms, and the other 5 cases showed intermittent symptoms. All patients had joint activities and muscle groups changes. Randomized, double-blind crossover administration: IBU 1600 mg / day (4 × 400 mg) or placebo control was administered to each patient. The eighth week of the two groups of cross-medication, continue to use for another 8 weeks, a total of 16 weeks. The other drugs were discontinued two days prior to the start of the trial and only paracetamol and codeine should be taken under strict observation during the pain relief period.
