Japan Utsunomiya Civil, Government, and University Jointly Promote Understanding of LRT In recent years, the core areas of Japan’s core cities are all concerned with the introduction of Light Rail Transit (LRT), a new type of public transport system for urban governance and integration. Utsunomiya City’s “new transportation system” is one example. In the surveys and studies on alleviating traffic congestion, the success stories in Europe and the United States are quite similar to the system. In particular, during the course of its introduction, including the economic recession in the central region, the various tasks that the local cities of 500,000 need to face today will be detonators. Mr. Morimoto (left), Associate Professor of Utsunomiya University’s Faculty of Engineering, gave his high expectation.
