An iterative inversion method considering wave energy absorption is described. This method allows the acoustic impedance to be estimated in horizontal deposits with almost parallel bedding. A set of reflection data was inverted and a model of acoustic impedance was obtained, which is in good contrast with the basic characteristics of the velocity log.
