His famous Chinese scholar Wang Dewei’s Chinese literary studies have always been characterized by profound knowledge, broad vision and original methodological approach. His problem consciousness has focused on exploring the complex and profound relationship between historical narrative and discourse power. On the basis of this, we will continue to explore the possible paradigms and their limitations of the historical narration of the modernity of Chinese literature. The book “History and the Monster” divides into four chapters and focuses on the hidden and profound internal relations between history, violence and narration. It examines some important phenomena that have long been overlooked in the study of Chinese modern and contemporary literature from a unique perspective and reveals The ridiculously strange and violent elements in the narrative of literary history and its deformation have also caused us to think deeply about the problems such as the literary modernity and the writing of literary history.
